Client conversations: meet Jacqueline

This post is is the third in my new client conversations series. I’m lucky enough to train really diverse and interesting folk with all kinds of training goals, ambitions, professional backgrounds and life experiences. I’ll regularly feature an interview with a client on my blog, so you can get to know them! Meet Jacqueline, a public servant and muso who has been training with me for three years.

You in 25 words or less.

You know I talk too much so 25 words is quite difficult to achieve! I am a student teacher and musician and love being outdoors.

What’s on your playlist right now?

You will judge me but Tori Kelly. She is amazing! I tend to like really lame music.

Why did you decide to start training with me?

Mum and I started training with Simon over 3 years ago! I believe it started as a make up session and we ended up really enjoying the session and Simon’s training style so decided to start doing PT once a week.

What are your big picture training goals?

I would just like to maintain my weight (maybe lose another 3kgs or so!!) and keep my cardio up. I enjoy running and would love to be able to run 10ks. A girl can dream!

Who inspires you?

My Mum. We train together and have for many years. She is an incredible person and always pushes herself to be better. We recently went to Nepal together and trekked the Himalayas. I cannot imagine another person I would rather climb mountains with and she was incredibly strong the entire time. I am so proud of her and her 4 minute plank.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about getting into training?

Try not to think of it like a chore and something that is going to hurt! Most of the time I train simply for mental health because I find it works wonders for keeping positive. I call it my free therapy. I am a huge advocate for mental health and fitness and believe it can really help maintain healthy mind.
